diViene

diViene Twisted Sterling Silver Black Onyx Heart ring; Amrita Singh oval ring; Sephora by OPI nail polish in "Arm Candy"

A little while back I was contacted by diViene to pick any piece of jewelry from their online shop and review it on my blog. I'm kind of a jewelry addict, so there was no way I was going to turn this opportunity down! diViene stocks custom made rings, pendants, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets made of high quality metals and gemstones. I chose the "Twisted Sterling Silver Stackable Ring with Large Heart, Genuine Black Onyx Stone" to review because it was available in a size 4 (I have ridiculously small fingers!) and I loved the heart shaped stone. Each piece of diViene jewelry is custom made, so once I placed my order it took a few days for the ring to be hand crafted and shipped out to me, but it was worth the wait! When the ring arrived it was everything I hoped for! It fit my middle finger perfectly, the onyx stone is dark and pure, and the twisted design on the band is a nice touch. diViene offers free shipping and a 360 day warranty on all jewelry, so you have nothing to lose by trying them out! I'm already deciding on my next purchase - I'm torn between the birthstone rings in emerald (I'm a May baby!) and these adorable floral earrings that are available in every color under the sun!

Follow diViene on Twitter and Facebook, and be sure to check out their online shop!

My Name Necklace

Free People dress (available at Shopbop and Karmaloop); MyNameNecklace.com "Ashley" necklace;
Hue tights; Jeffrey Campbell Litas from
Solestruck
; Vintage Levi's denim jacket

I've always been a huge fan of Carrie Bradshaw's "Carrie" necklace on Sex and the City, so when I was contacted by MyNameNecklace.com to review a name necklace of my own, I was ecstatic! I chose the sterling silver name necklace with a chain length of 18" - the necklaces also come in 18k gold plated, 14k gold, and white gold, with lengths of 14", 16", 18", 20", and 22", and are custom made to order. I've already worn mine just about every day since I received it! I love the length, it's perfect to layer with other necklaces or just wear on its own, and it's a great conversation piece - a few people have already asked me where I got it from. The necklaces are affordable too, so if you've ever wanted to have your own "Carrie" necklace be sure to check out MyNameNecklace.com!

Bohemia

Handmade tie dye dress, Forever 21 headband, Vintage necklace, rings, and bracelets,
Elizabeth & James snake ring, Minnetonka moccasins

Are you all enjoying this early summer? In a few days it went from 50 degrees to over 80 degrees! I'm so excited, but so *hot*! I've been living in loose dresses - I don't know what else to wear! How do you all dress to beat the heat?

Anyways, I just wanted to take a few quick pictures because it has been over a month since I've done an outfit post!
I got this dress from a vendor at this festival I went to last weekend with the BF. I wanted to buy pretty much everything in the vendor's stand, but the BF knows I'm broke and dragged me away before I did too much damage. And plus, how many tie dye dresses can one person own? Hm... now that I think about it, I could definitely use a few more tie dye dresses :)

The necklace is from a lot of "southwestern" jewelry I randomly bid on and ended up winning over at ebay. I scored 10 necklaces, a few bracelets, and 4 pairs of earrings for basically nothing - gotta love ebay for that! What's your best ebay score? I love hearing about bargains!

Hope you all have a great weekend! FYI, I have another giveaway coming up in the next week or so - get excited! It's a good one!

Currently Craving: Chav-tastic

*The perfect turban (both @ Babooshka Boutique)
*Blatant, gaudy name-brands (J'adore Dior tank @ Ebay)
*A neck full of chains (Bolera Body Chain @ Armor Jewelry, Chain fringe necklace @ Urban Outfitters)

I'm not craving particular things at the moment, but more ideas of perfect things, that likely don't exist in the real world. For example, the perfect turban. In my head, I envision it to be somewhat like Carrie Bradshaw's turban in SATC2, but less sparkly and vacation-y and more everyday wear. I have no idea what that would look like in front of me - still figuring that part out. But I do love all of the Babooshka Boutique turbans over at Etsy!

I'm also craving the perfect in-your-face, gaudy designer item. Like a J'adore Dior tank (also inspired from SATC2), or those Chanel CC sandals that came out a few years ago (as seen on Nitrolicious). Anything sort of chavvy like that, I'm loving right now! I've got to try to dig up my old Burberry hat from high school... I wish I was kidding!

And chains, an old classic - the more, the better! If I had $275 laying around, you better believe that I'd be wearing that Armor Bolera chain around - and probably building up some impressive back muscles by doing so! How heavy do you think that would be? Well, however heavy, it'd be worth it for sure!

PS: There is a winner for the SATC2 On Location Tours tickets! Congrats to Dee of All That Lace! Enjoy!!

Three Blondes Jewelry

Three Blondes is a jewelry line established in 2008 by Summer Rej and Jennifer Meyers. Both raised in NYC, the girls have created a collection of jewelry and accessories that reflect the city they call home. The pieces mesh Upper East Side delicate beauty with Downtown-style chunky chains and oversized crystals, creating one-of-a-kind pieces that really are like no other jewelry you own! Already featured on VogueTV and The Fashion Spot, Three Blondes is an up-and-coming label that you're going to want to get to know!

A few months ago I was offered the opportunity to check out the gorgeous jewelry and accessories of Three Blondes, as well as interview the designers, Summer and Jen. The lovely ladies sent over "The Independent", a gorgeous black crystal and gold necklace, and "The Gala", black crochet gloves with intricate gold beading (both seen above). They were also kind enough to answer a bunch of questions - read on to learn more about Three Blondes Jewelry!

How did you two meet, and how did you decide to create a line of jewelry together?
We met our freshman year of high school when we attended The Calhoun School in New York. We
bonded in English class, sharing notes and study questions, but also chatting over clothes we had just picked up from little boutiques near Calhoun - this was back in 1999, when our closets included Miss Sixty, Buggirl, Steve Madden (we both had multiple pairs of the same shoes!), ANY logo tees by Junk Food, Paul Frank or E.Vil, with some Kate Spade or Prada accessories and brands such as Tocca mixed in. We ultimately became the best of friends. We formed a small t-shirt company (imagine lots of logos and embellishments) while we were in college and realized we worked well as business partners, brainstorm ideas that we both believe in, and listen to each others opinions. We also gained experience working internships and jobs in the fashion and art communities which inspired us to create something of our own which would serve as a creative outlet. We also have tons of fun and laughs working together, which is necessary to counter the hard work and endless hours that go into running a business, especially when you are executing each component on your own, as we are. We realized that there was such room for creativity within the world of jewelry and accessories. Since jewelry and hair accessories have always been wardrobe staples of the utmost importance to each of us, we decided to parlay our efforts in that direction. Years later, we're still the best of friends and are so excited with what's in store with Three Blondes currently and in the future. We hope for big things and have grand plans in mind!

Where do you look to for inspiration in your designs?
Everywhere - living in New York, some of the greatest inspiration comes from individuals walking down the street, store windows, landmarks. Our brand identity centers around the concept that the wearer is a chic, hip woman who is at the forefront of fashion and is a confident individualist in how she presents herself. A 3B necklace or headband is an added element that works with her overall look, compliments and represents her, plus serves as a conversation piece. Many of our pieces were inspired by great female icons of the past - style trendsetters who were not afraid to push the envelope. Many of our friends share that trait, and we even named some of our pieces after friends who inspire us and represent the 3B woman. Inspiration comes from everywhere: film, music, photography, interior design. In fact, we utilize crystals from real chandeliers and hope these pieces offer the same effect as a true chandelier - that extra element that instantly transforms a setting, sets a mood, and adds beautiful luxury and elegance to anything it touches.

What are your favorite pieces that you have created so far?
Within each category, we have a few favs. From our chandelier necklaces, we love love "The Bold" and "The Sparkle." Love our chandelier wrap bracelet, available with assorted ribbons. "The Gala" gloves in black and gold are a major fav since the black/gold color combo is something we've turned to for years. Similarly, "The Little Black Bow" necklace, simple gold wooden beads with a bow-tie closure, goes great with a little cocktail dress but could also be paired with jeans and a blazer. "The Icon" headband in both black and white styles is also versatile as it can be worn as a headband or wrapped around the wrist as a bracelet.

Who have you been most excited to see your jewelry on? And what celebrity would you most like to see in your designs?
We'd love to see our jewelry on those who have developed their own amazing and unique sense of style. The style icons of today who inspire the masses; girls who aren't afraid to go all out and be glamorous, daring, and original. It would be the ultimate compliment to see Alexa Chung, Georgia Jagger, Leighton Meester, Rachel Zoe, Alexandra von Furstenberg, Sienna Miller, Nicole Richie, Mary-Kate or Ashley Olsen wearing a piece from the 3B collections. Of course, we hope to soon see ALL of our friends in NYC decked out in our designs. And you, too!

A huge thanks to Summer and Jen for the opportunity to check out their jewelry and chat with them! If you'd like to shop the designs of Three Blondes Jewelry, they are currently available online at ShopThreeBlondes.com, and at Clyde's Chemists at 926 Madison Ave (@ 74th Street) in NYC!

Fog

Thrifted denim top from Goodwill, Current/Elliott jeans,
Jeffrey Campbell Charlie clogs, Vintage bracelet

Denim-on-denim, still not a look I'm 100% convinced works, but it's growing on me. I picked up this shirt at Goodwill the other day (just $2!), and I think I'm going to try to bleach it out, hopefully resulting in something like this. I'm not the best at DIYs, so wish me luck! And send along tips and tricks to successful bleaching, if you have them!

This leopard bracelet is my latest favorite piece of jewelry, and hasn't left my wrist all week. You can't tell in this picture, but it's fuzzy. So awesome.

The night we took these pictures there was fog so thick you could barely see a few feet in front of your face. The BF and I couldn't find a great way to pick up the fog in the pictures, but I wanted to post this last pic so you could get a feel for it. Very eery.

Currently Craving: Springtime

Bridget lace dress @ Nasty Gal
Falling Leaves earrings @ Free People
Jeffrey Campbell Snick wedges @ Need Supply
Nail Polish in the perfect shade of peach @ American Apparel
Pamela Love double cage ring @ Bonadrag
Seneca Rising Shea maxi dress @ Bonadrag

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, yet I look at the thermometer and it reads 28 degrees. I hope the weather is better where you are at!

So while I enjoy the sunlight from inside my house, with the heat turned all the way up, I can at least pretend that Spring is on its way. And if it is, the picks above are exactly what I will be wearing when it arrives. Sky-high wooden wedges, loose dresses, and that American Apparel nail polish in "Palm Springs". Oh how I wish I was in Palm Springs right now...

Currently Craving: Pretty Little Things

Vintage Coiled Snake Bracelet; Sterling Silver Stacking Rings; Intimately FP Encinitas Ruffle Cropped Cami; Little Birch Jewelry Stand; OctopusME! Octopus Sucker Ring; Free People Color Run Hoodie

I found this store on Etsy, OctopusME!, and I can't decide if it's the coolest thing or the creepiest thing ever. Here's a bit of the description of the Octopus Sucker Ring posted above:

"This is a REAL Octopus Tentacle I modified to become a ring! I hollowed out the wax version for the finger hole and shaped the piece. After it was cast and cleaned, I added some of the textures by hand. It feels good on, fits well between your fingers and it has a nice weight to it. Definitely unique and looks great on guys and gals!"
So, this ring is made from actual Octopus? I'm not sure if the PETA side of me is all for this, but that ring is pretty awesome. As are a ton of other pieces at that store. Check it out!

Currently Craving: Shades of Grey

Nine West Iunia Over-the-Knee Boots
Urban Outfitters Spike Drop Earrings
Torn Heidi All Over Long Fringe Leather Vest
Dolce & Gabbana Suede Platform Wedge Booties
Urban Outfitters Angular Ring
Norwegian Wood Feather Fringe Necklace
Erika Hendrix Reversible Coat
Topshop Scattered Stud Shorts

I'd like to blame the nonstop dreary weather and rain for all of the blacks and greys I'm craving this week, but honestly I just think I'm stuck in a bit of a color rut. Going through my clothes, shoes, and jewelry, just about everything is black, grey, and silver. I've always got a justification when it comes to buying more pieces in those colors though - 'Fall is coming soon' or 'It'll match with everything'. Someone help me break the cycle! I need a color intervention!

Free People is killing it with their shoes lately - not only do they have near-perfect Ann Demeulemeester knockoffs, they also have over-the-knee, slim-fitting flat boots, which I have been searching for forever! House of Harlow has hit it out of the ballpark again with a bunch of fun oversized rings, any of which I would love to add to my jewelry collection. And that studded denim vest from Current/Elliott? Margo Morrison Rainbow Moonstone Necklace

The day I left to go home for the holidays I received my Margo Morrison necklace in the mail. It is so beautiful, I just had to share it with you all! I won it from a Gossip Girl contest on CelebStyle (check the post here) - it is the Rainbow Moonstone Necklace that Blake Lively wore on episode 2 of season 2 of Gossip Girls (of course not the same one she wore - I wonder if she got to keep hers?). Anyways, it's absolutely stunning. These pictures do NOT do it justice! The stones are white, but they reflect the colors that you're wearing such that they take on different tones in different environments. Basically, this necklace goes with absolutely everything in my closet! Also, it's really long so you can drape it around your neck in a million different ways to create a million different looks. If you would like to check out more of Margo Morrison's one-of-a-kind jewelry, click here for her website - and get ready to drool!
