Bad Blogger

nicole by Nicole Miller Michelle leopard heels (available here)

I'm sorry I've been such a bad blogger this month - between my internship, trying to see absolutely everything there is to see in this city, and applying for jobs, I barely have time to sleep! In the past few days I've met with the lovely PR ladies from Nicole Miller and nicole by Nicole Miller (check out those leopard beauties above!), previewed holiday goodies at the ABPR showroom, got lost in Bed-Stuy while trying to find a bar in Brooklyn, and ate an unhealthy amount of greasy food cart food. I haven't had much time for outfit pictures, but I was wondering if you all were interested in seeing random city pictures like the ones in my previous post? Let me know, I have tons to share if you guys like them! And I'll be trying to get back into blogger-mode this weekend with outfit pics, currently craving collages, and all that good stuff - and of course catching up on all of your blogs!

Wanted

Sorry for the long gap between blog posts, I've been running around working on everything and accomplishing nothing this past week, but I didn't forget about you guys! I'm going to be spending all afternoon catching up on your blogs! But first I wanted to share a picture of these lovely crochet boots Wanted Shoes sent over a few weeks back. I've been waiting until the rain and snow let up to wear them, and it looks like it might be nice enough to break them out this coming week! These boots are available to buy at Wanted Shoes, Nasty Gal, and Urban Outfitters in white, brown, and black.

Also, I wanted to give a huge thank you to Rika at Fashion Blogger Revealed for interviewing me and featuring Breakfast at Saks! Thanks Rika!

R.I.P. U.G.G.

Thrifted sweater; Hue leggings; Ugg Australia boots

Uggs are a divisive boot - you either love 'em or hate 'em. As an Upstate New Yorker who has to endure around 6 months of ice, slush, and snow every year, I am an Ugg-lover. That's why I was so upset the other day when I discovered a hole in the toe of my trusty old boots. What should I do now? The first snow of the year is scheduled for later this week and I don't know if I should buy another pair of Uggs or try to find a different, less-comfortable-but-more-stylish winter boot? What shoes do you all wear through the slush and ice of winter? Or are you lucky enough to live where there is no snow (and if so, can I come visit you this winter?)

PS - I want to thank Monica of Vantage Point Vintage for featuring me as one of her "Girls Who Get It" - thanks Monica!

Currently Craving: Boots

I'm all out of sorts. It's 90 degrees outside and I'm fantasizing about (and ordering) winter boots. Why does fashion always have to run one season ahead? Also, this post could have been called "Currently Craving: Jeffrey Campbell", because 4 out of 5 of these boots are JC. I'm a little obsessed lately - but seriously, have you checked out their Fall/Winter lookbook? It's incredible! Have you guys gotten swept up in the preordering mania like I have?

PS: I listed a few things on ebay this week, including a Marchesa dress and some Velvet Angels shoes, so if you're in a shopping mood be sure to check them out!

Jeffrey Campbell F/W 2010

Have we all seen the Jeffrey Campbell F/W 2010 lookbook yet? It's available to download here, and oh man, it's shoe-porn at its best. The styles will be hitting stores in the next 4-10 weeks, and my money is on the Lita platform boot (pictured above) selling out immediately. Are you going to be saving your pennies for any of these shoes?

Currently Craving: Earthtones

Lydia lace dress from Nasty Gal; Cross and Dagger necklace from Rackk and Ruin; Deux Lux tassel bucket bag from Urban Outfitters; Caza platform clog from Free People; Turquoise stackable rings from Urban Outfitters; Jeffrey Campbell CLIP wedges from Lori's Shoes

As the temperatures get warmer and the sun light lasts longer, I've found myself transitioning out of my all black/white/gray winter uniform into a more tan/beige/brown one. Silver accessories are being switched out for bronze ones, and black leather for distressed brown leather. I'd call it a more "Coachella" style, but I am *so* sick of hearing about Coachella everywhere I turn!

I would have bought these Jeffrey Campbell CLIP wedges already, but I can't seem to find them on the Lori's Shoes website - could they already be sold out? I'll email and see what I can find out. Until then, the Free People Caza platform clogs are a pretty decent stand in!

And FYI, as soon as I reach 200 followers, I'm going to be having an amazing giveaway! So tell your friends - I just need 4 more followers before the contest will open!

3-30

Forever 21 jacket, the BF's flannel shirt, Current/Elliott jeans (or "jeggings", ugh I hate
that word!), Jeffrey Campbell Charlie clogs from
Lori's Shoes, Balenciaga bag

It has been a really long time since I have done an outfit post! Today there was absolutely nothing to do all day, so the BF and I spent the afternoon wandering around and drinking Starbucks. We stumbled upon this nice brick wall to take pictures in front of, and for once I actually had my camera on me!

Tonight
the BF and I went to an Indian buffet and had Mango Lassi's - they are *SO* good. You must try one asap, I had never had one before but now I am a believer and an addict. Afterwards we checked out the dollar movie theater and caught "Up In the Air", during which I annoyed the BF with my swooning over George Clooney. He really does get better with age, right?

These are my first new purchase in a long time, the Jeffrey Campbell Charlie clogs. I know that every blogger on the internet already has these shoes, but I'm weak for anything that so resembles Chanel and is in my price range. Plus I had a coupon...

I hope you're all having a fabulous week!

Currently Craving: Springtime

Bridget lace dress @ Nasty Gal
Falling Leaves earrings @ Free People
Jeffrey Campbell Snick wedges @ Need Supply
Nail Polish in the perfect shade of peach @ American Apparel
Pamela Love double cage ring @ Bonadrag
Seneca Rising Shea maxi dress @ Bonadrag

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, yet I look at the thermometer and it reads 28 degrees. I hope the weather is better where you are at!

So while I enjoy the sunlight from inside my house, with the heat turned all the way up, I can at least pretend that Spring is on its way. And if it is, the picks above are exactly what I will be wearing when it arrives. Sky-high wooden wedges, loose dresses, and that American Apparel nail polish in "Palm Springs". Oh how I wish I was in Palm Springs right now...

Currently Craving: Stripes and Wedges

Lindsey Thornburg Betty Krueger Dress; MinkPink Straight A's Stripe Jumper; Acne Pre-Fall 2010 Wedges; Jeffrey Campbell Buckle Up Wedge; Acne Extreme Stripe Dress

Technically, I'm always craving wedges, but the Acne Pre-Fall 2010 wedges have me thinking about selling an organ or two in order to afford them! The blue ones are so hot, but I can't really see myself wearing them out of the house... I know, I'm not very adventurous. But I can't wait to see how they're used in editorials! The Lindsey Thornburg dress is my other fav out of the bunch above - it comes in a maxi and mini version, both of which I love, and was created exclusively for Bona Drag. According to the description, the dress "gets better with age - the knit unravels slightly with wear, in an amazing worn-in Rodarte kind of way." Ok, I'm sold, I'll take one in both lengths, thanks.

Currently Craving: 1-8-10

C Society Crochet Dress; Free People Flare Jeans; Deena & Ozzy Woven Wedge Bootie; F21 Pearlescent Cluster Ring; Jeffrey Campbell Lace OTK Boot; Where The Wild Things Are x Opening Ceremony Carol Ring

I am so ready for the end of skin-tight jeans and the re-emergence of flares! Is this really coming, or are we all going to have to come together and force the change? Are you guys with me? Let's bring back flares!

...but I'm still going to keep the skinnies I just bought this past weekend, if that's ok :)

Shopbop $100 Gift Card Giveaway with Ugg Australia Boots!

ugg australia boots
I love my readers, you all are the best. Thank you for taking the time to read my posts, thank you for the helpful, thoughtful, and funny comments, and thank you for following my blog (I have over 100 followers, that's just craziness! I love you all!). But sometimes a simple thank you just doesn't cut it. That's why I am giving one of you a $100 gift card to one of my very favorite online stores, Shopbop!

To enter: Tell me which pair Ugg Australia boots from Shopbop is your favorite and why. The best comment wins, so get creative! Let me know how you'd style them, where you'd wear them, all that good stuff :) This contest will run for 10 days.

I chose to focus on Shopbop's selection of Ugg Australia boots for this giveaway because I want to take away the stigma they have in the fashion community. Ugg boots are warm, comfortable, and a necessity in cold climates (like upstate NY!). And, there are some really cute styles to choose from at Shopbop!

So what's technically an Ugg Australia boot?
The name "uggs" or "ugs" actually existed even before there was an Ugg Australia brand. At first, uggs were worn by anyone needing to keep warm - from sheep shearers and aviators, to surfers and swimmers. The actual brand, as we know it, didn't debut until 1978 when an Australian surfer brought them to California.

How did Ugg Australia boots become so popular?
The boots slowly caught on at the beach, but Oprah made them famous when she gave hundreds away on her show. Then, Pamela Anderson wore them on "Baywatch", Samantha wore them on "Sex and the City", and Jessica Simpson sported a pair on an episode of "Newlyweds". Now they're everywhere.

Who else has them?
I have a couple pairs, and guess what? You can get a pair too, if you leave the winning comment! One winner will get a $100 Shopbop.com gift card good towards the entire online store. Just tell me which pair of Ugg Australia boots is your favorite and how you'd wear them. Get creative!

Bloggers are taking over!!

I was browsing through the Free People website this afternoon and I stumbled upon the amazing boots above - called the "Bleach Black Boot" by Frye. Could this boot be inspired by the ladies of Bleach Black? I'm just speculating here, but it does look like something they would wear (also, I realize the boot is a black boot that has been bleached out... but work with me!).

And by now I'm sure you all have heard about the shoes for Urban Outfitters designed by Jane Aldridge of
Sea of Shoes - if not, check them out here, they're so so cute! Bloggers are taking over, and I'm loving it!
