The city never sleeps, better slip you an ambien

I've been a horrible blogger lately, I'm so so sorry! I've been very busy, but I promise I have some posts I'm working on that will hopefully go up over the weekend. For now, I hope this video can serve as an apology! Let's hear it for New York!

Hope you all have a Happy Halloween!

Blazer: Thrifted
Tee: Fashion's Night Out
Jeans: Current/Elliott

I had a whole long post typed out, and then my Firefox crashed. Don't you hate it when that happens? Well, it's been that kind of a weekend. But I did score two amazing vintage pieces on ebay and the perfect long black tank dress (which I've been looking for forever!) for 75% off at Target. The rain brings out the shopaholic in me!

Don't forget to enter to win a gorgeous Ella Moss top this month! Last day to enter is October 31st!

Currently Craving: Winter Wedges

1.Charlotte Olympia Suede Ankle Boots
2. Free People Zoey Gladiator Bootie
3. Fornarina Suede Wedge
4. Opening Ceremony Wool Tartan Wedge
5.
J. Aldridge by Sea of Shoes Tall Wedge Lace Boot

I will never get sick of wedges! Seriously, they are comfortable, easy to wear all day, and when they look this good, you can't blame me for wanting them all! I gotta say though, if I had to choose just one pair, those Charlotte Olympia's are at the very top of my list! Also, how cool is it to see a fellow blogger's name on a pair of shoes at Urban Outfitters? Congrats Jane!

On a different note, I'd like to request the help of all of my readers! I'm hoping that one of you out there can help me locate a jumpsuit similar to this Stella McCartney one pictured below. Thick knit, long sleeves and pants, and preferably in a print... I *so badly* need one of these this winter!

Heal Fashionlab

"Always with this contrast of feelings between the structured side of the print and the arachnidan softness of the fabrics: knit, silk, cashmere, sometimes in opposition to more technical fabrics from the sportswear universe. Contrast of the sophisticated and the casual, for the day and for the evening, still with the usual easiness required." (Heal)

Heal Fashionlab, created by Hervé and Alice, is a French fashion house that designs clothing inspired by animals, nature, space, and the universe. The two designers play with contrasts between materials, shapes, and structures, resulting in designs that push the boundaries in a playful way. So unique, so beautiful, and so fun! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

And on a personal note...

Oh yes. You all better watch out, Lebron and the Cavs have it this year! And I need to see this Lebron documentary, More Than A Game - anyone know if it's online anywhere?

Back to fashion, I wanted to let you guys know about a promotion going on this month. Saturday Morning

Jacket: vintage
Tee: Hanes
Sweats: Walmart
Boots: Nine West
Jewelry: vintage and random
Sunglasses: Burberry

I'm sorry to post back-to-back outfit pictures of myself, I know I'm being lazy! But I promise I have way more interesting posts coming up, so stick with me! I took these pictures earlier this morning because for some unknown reason I woke up super early, but it was worth it because I caught a few minutes of sunshine! I have to appreciate the sun while I can, because winter in upstate = no sun.

de*nada

Sweater: Vintage
Scarf: de*nada
Jeans: Current/Elliott
Boots: Alice+Olivia for Payless

I'm absolutely loving the cooling temperatures, mostly because I get to break out my scarves! I have a ridiculously large scarf collection, and my favorite of the moment has to be this de*nada eternal knit scarf. It's a neverending circle of knitted ropes that can be styled a million different ways, and it's so so soft! Do you have a favorite winter accessory that you can't wait to break out this season?

Currently Craving: Dreaming in shades of black

1. Free People Strappy Over-the-Knee Boot
2.
Free People Draping Chains Tank (I've tried this on, it's even more beautiful in person!)
3.
Norwegian Wood Luxe Collection Banded Lace Leggings
4.
Alice + Olivia Military Jacket
5.
Chanel Classic Flap Bag

Mmm, I need to wipe the drool off my keyboard after staring at these beautiful Nicolas Kirkwood for Rodarte knockoffs by Free People. What a beautiful boot! Plus, they have a thicker heel, so they seem like they couldn't be too uncomfortable! And FYI to the FTC, Free People is not paying me to write this, nor are they giving me freebies - however, I'd gladly accept it (and report it!) if they sent me these boots! LoL! While we're on the topic, what do you fellow bloggers think of the new FTC guidelines? I haven't researched them fully yet, but I don't see anything wrong with encouraging honesty.

Twisted and Beautiful

I don't know if you guys have caught on to this yet, but lately I have been developing a growing obsession with jewelry. The bigger and the bolder, the better! So it should come as no shock that I have fallen in love with the jewelry brand Twisted and Beautiful!

New York City-based Twisted and Beautiful is designed by Lauren Cutrona, who custom-makes every piece of jewelry as it is ordered. Lauren's pieces have been spotted on celebs like Jessie of NYC Prep in the Wall Street Journal's Speak Easy blog and New York Magazine.

Twisted and Beautiful jewelry feature heavy chains, contrasting metals, and intricate designs. These pieces are not for the timid, but rather for those who want their jewelry to stand out among the crowd! The collection consists of heavy bracelets, necklaces, and even an all-in-one piece from their "Recession Collection" that can be used as a necklace, bracelet, or headband! Finding beauty in the midst of a recession - now that's something I can get behind!

If you are interested in checking out more pieces from Twisted and Beautiful, stop by the website - there is a necklace sale going on right now!

leopard and sweats

Sweater: Vintage
Sweats: Walmart
Tee: Urban Outfitters
Boots: Alice+Olivia for Payless

Ok guys, confession time, and this time it's a real confession. An embarrassing confession. This is hard to say... but I'll just be out with it... I am addicted to Real Chance of Love. I never saw the first season, but I am wayyyy too involved in the second season. I have my favorites - Mamacita for Chance and Sassy for Real. It's my guilty pleasure! Do you guys have guilty pleasure TV shows, that you watch when you think no one is looking? Let me know so I don't feel like such a loser getting wrapped up in my Snuggie and watching reruns of Real Chance of Love!

Oh, and on a fashion-related note, I plan on taking the sweats I'm wearing in these pics and DIY-ing them in to these ridiculously-priced $160 Erin Wasson x RVCA sweats this weekend! Wish me luck!

Planet Blue's Black Label collection

In September LA-based web-store Planet Blue released a private label collection, Black Label, which scattered old me just got the time to check out. The Black Label collection consists of bohemian-style silk tops, mini skirts, and dresses, which stay true to Planet Blue's California girl aesthetic but are slightly sexier and bolder than what you'd normally expect from the store. The Private Label collection is also one-of-a-kind only 15 pieces are created in each print and once they are gone they are never to be reproduced again! Instead, they will be replaced by new styles every 2-3 weeks, both in stores and online. Prices range from $92-$189, so these aren't exactly cheap thrill buys, but they are one-of-a-kind statement pieces, which every girl needs a few of in her closet! Check out just a few of my picks from the Black Label collection below, or check out the whole line at Planet Blue!
