I'm ok with Fall coming, as long as it looks this good! With her Fall 2009 collection, Canadian Erin Kleinberg hopes to "bridge a gap in the marketplace with a collection of semi-couture tanks, tees, cardigans, and novelty pieces". The pieces are made in eco-friendly yet luxurious fabrics, are hand sewn, and many feature vintage jewels and adornments.
Oh, and did I mention that Erin Kleinberg is only 23 years old? With a previous post at W Magazine already behind her? I feel so unaccomplished. Check out her other pieces at ErinKleinberg.com, and shop at Intermix.
ps- How hot is Theodora Richards in these pics?

Date Night
First off I wanted to thank you all for the comments on the Smiling Debate post, they were incredibly insightful and I will try to take each and every one of them into account when I take my outfit pics! I want to make sure the pictures are the least painful to look at as possible :)
So today was National Cheesecake Day, did you all celebrate? Me and the BF sure did! We went to the Cheesecake Factory and split a Tuxedo Mouse cheesecake, mmmmm was it delicious! Definitely going to have to go for a long jog tomorrow though to work it off! Even though we just went to the Cheesecake Factory I felt like dressing up a bit, so this BB Dakota dress from Chickdowntown got to come out and play. I really love the color of it, but I think it’s a bit too long for me – I kind of feel like Victoria Beckham when I wear it, which I guess isn’t horrible. Check out the zipper on the back too – that’s my favorite part!

Quick notes
I don't know where all my time is going, but it seems like there aren't enough hours in the day to get everything accomplished that I want to! I've been meaning to post more regularly but life keeps getting in the way. Anyways, before I forget, I wanted to let you all know about a few fun things going on right now!
-MTV has a new show called "What Were U Thinking?" where they interview celebs about why they chose to wear what they did to awards shows and events. It's really kind of cool to get inside the heads of celebs (or their stylists) to see what goes in to choosing the perfect red carpet look. The first episode features Kelly Osbourne and her ridiculously amazing Balmain jacket - I posted the video above, or you can click here to watch.
-One of my fav shopping sites, 25 Park, is hosting a contest with Polyvore where you can enter to win a $500, $250, or $100 gift card to 25 Park! All you have to do is create a Polyvore of the perfect 25 Park look, including at least 3 pieces from 25 Park. Click here for all the details!
-I was recently featured on Celebrity Looks for Less as a Reader Look for Less, you can check it out here and submit a look of your own!
-I have a really fun giveaway coming up, one that will be open to all readers - international included! I know you guys are going to love it! Keep checking back, I'll be posting it in the next week or so.

The smiling debate
I took a hint from some comments from the last what-i-was-wearing post and smiled in this picture, it really is nicer to look at pictures of smiling people! I don't know what it is about fashion blogging but it just seems like the standard is to not smile in your pictures. Well, I say we start a movement - the smiling fashion bloggers movement! Smiley people unite!
But seriously, this whole smiling thing is very interesting to me. So what do you guys think? Do you prefer smiley pictures? Do you prefer the somber, typical fashion blogger pictures? Do you not care at all what expression someones face is in, and just look at the outfit? Let me know!

Aschobi: Sierra Leone Couture
Aschobi is a Sierra Leone-based luxury woman's clothing line designed by Adama Kai. Raised in Sierra Leone, Adama moved to the US when she was 12 and later attended the famed Parsons fashion school. After further study in Europe and NYC, Adama moved back to Sierra Leone to found her first clothing line, Aschobi.
Aschobi designs are defined by their bright colors, intricate embroidery, and bold materials. Adama says that "Aschobi exists in the space where luxury meets classic feminine elegance together with an African aesthetic that enhances the natural curves of a modern woman. The Aschobi woman is a true global citizen – intelligent, well travelled, socially conscious, and fun."
Adama chose to launch Aschobi in war torn Sierra Leone because of her unshakeable conviction in the rebirth and redevelopment of the country. She explains that "maybe I have more opportunities as a designer over there [in the US], but I'm making a bigger statement over here. In the same way that Ralph Lauren stands for America, Chanel for France, and Versace for Italy, I want Aschobi to stand for African fashion"
To learn more about Aschobi and Adama, visit Aschobi.com or the Aschobi Facebook page.Pics from the Aschobi Facebook page

Dolce & Gabbana Suede Platform Wedge Booties

I'd like to blame the nonstop dreary weather and rain for all of the blacks and greys I'm craving this week, but honestly I just think I'm stuck in a bit of a color rut. Going through my clothes, shoes, and jewelry, just about everything is black, grey, and silver. I've always got a justification when it comes to buying more pieces in those colors though - 'Fall is coming soon' or 'It'll match with everything'. Someone help me break the cycle! I need a color intervention!

Wildfox Couture Giveaway- Winner Announced!
Officially marking the end of my first blog contest, I am announcing the winner of the Wildfox Couture Giveaway, courtesy of Chick Downtown! I used the Random Number Generator from Random.org to pick a winner, so without further ado...
Congratulations to entry #6, Ann of Howeverrr. Here's what Ann said:
Oh, my god... I would looove to win this. I never win any of these contest things, but I'll still give it a shot; that's how bad I want it, hahaha. I'd pair with the "Black Mirror Recessive Cigarette" jeans, mostly because I'm a sucker for dark denim jeans & the fact that I think they look more sophisticated with that shirt rather than blue jeans or shorts. All in all, that shirt & those jeans would look very classy yet laidback together :)
Congrats again Ann! See, even if you "never" win contests, they're worth entering - you never know when your luck will change! I am looking in to contests that my international readers can enter too, so keep an eye out for those in the future. Hope you're all having a great weekend!

What's so controversial about these clothes?
By now you've likely all heard about the Target collaboration with Anna Sui due to hit stores and Target.com on September 13th. But have you heard the latest controversy surrounding the collab? According to Racked, head-honchos at Target are getting a little scared about the strong link between their latest Go line and the popular TV show Gossip Girl. They fear that by promoting the collection, they are promoting premarital sex, drug overdoses, and murder (à la Gossip Girl). As rumor goes, there was going to be a Gossip Girl scene filmed in Anna Sui's Soho store, filled with extras decked out in the Anna Sui/Target line, but Anna Sui backed out last minute due to pressure from Target execs. As of now, Target still plans to release the line in September, but they do not want it to be so strongly linked to the Gossip Girl show.
Hmm, I'm not sure what to think about this, but I hope the Target execs don't decide to cancel the collaboration or pull any pieces from the collection. I really like a few of the Serena-inspired looks, especially the two above. Do you think you'll be checking out the Anna Sui/Target line in September?

2. Free People Corset Heels
3. Deux Lux Transformer Knapsack
4. Siwy Hannah Slim Crop in Blackstorm
5. Current/Elliott Studded Snap Vest
6. Free People Convertible Over the Knee Boot
Not sure if I could fit much more in this collage of things I'm craving! But since I've been trying to cut back on my spending, it seems as though I have been finding more and more things that I want to buy. Isn't that how it always is?
Free People is killing it with their shoes lately - not only do they have near-perfect Ann Demeulemeester knockoffs, they also have over-the-knee, slim-fitting flat boots, which I have been searching for forever! House of Harlow has hit it out of the ballpark again with a bunch of fun oversized rings, any of which I would love to add to my jewelry collection. And that studded denim vest from Current/Elliott? Yes please! I hope I find a job soon... I really could use a paycheck about now!
