Transitional dressing

It might be a little early to call this a "transitional" season, but after a stretch of 90 degree days the 60s and 70s feel pretty close to freezing. I actually brought some of my sweaters out of hiding this past week - yes I know, I'm weak. Maybe I should move down south?

Anyhow, the Fall lookbooks are starting to drop and I'm welcoming the outfit inspiration - why wait until September to wear woolly socks and scarves when you're cold now? I'm sure I'll be eating those words once the dog days of summer set in.

How do you guys dress for these awkward, not-too-warm, not-too-cool days between summer and fall?

First taste of Fall: Aeropostale holiday preview

Hey guys! I know it seems like I'm neglecting this blog, but I promise it's just because I've been so busy with some awesome collaborations that I'll be posting about asap. There are good things to come for little ol' Breakfast at Saks, so stay tuned!

In the meantime, since today is a chilly 65 degrees in NYC, I thought it was fitting to post these pictures from the Aeropostale Holiday Preview event I went to this afternoon. Recently Aeropostale has been taking their brand in a whole new fashion direction, so if you haven't been in their store in a while I recommend swinging by again - the new stuff is adorable! But don't take my word for it, check out the pictures below! These pieces will be filtering into Aero stores starting in the end of October.

The city outside still sounds like it's on fire

This past Thursday was one of my favorite nights in NYC so far. I was invited to cover the launch party for the new Heineken red star bottle and I agreed, thinking I would drink a few free Heinekens and take a few pictures. It ended up being so much more amazing than I could've imagined!

Heineken shipped everyone across the East River to a "private location" which turned out to be the Brooklyn Navy Yard. We were treated to a red carpet, unlimited Heinekens and appetizers, appearances by Ashley Tisdale and Stacy Keibler, music by DJ Vice, and oh yes, a surprise concert by one of my favorite bands, fun.!! My head is still spinning over the whole experience. Fun. performed for about an hour, including their hits "We Are Young", "Carry On", "Some Nights", and "Stars". Thank you Heineken, and thank you fun.!!
