Got that holiday spirit

Jacket and Shirt: American Apparel
Cardigan: Rodarte for Target
Jeans: Target
Boots: Report
Jewelry: Same as always :)

I wish I could say that I'm standing in front of my own house in the picture above, but no, my family doesn't have quite this much holiday spirit. This is the house of one of my neighbors, and it's been written about in the newspaper and everything (there isn't much to talk about in suburbia!). This is just the front of the house, and there are also lights all over the side and back, as well as moving reindeer and sleighs and tons more ridiculousness. I kind of love it!

And I think this is my dog Zoe's first sighting on this blog! She's ancient old, pretty much deaf and blind, but so lovable :) I want to dress her up in this santa dog costume I found at work, but I'm not so sure she shares my holiday spirit...

Oh and also I'm wearing my second piece from the Rodarte for Target collection, the lace cardigan. I am so glad that I stumbled upon this in the dressing room restocks at my store, I thought for sure they were all sold out! I also ordered the tights, socks, and wrap dress from Target's website, and they should be delivered tomorrow. I may have gone just a little overboard with this collaboration... Did you all get any more Rodarte since we last spoke?

Sex and the City 2 Trailer!

I know what I'm doing the day before my 24th birthday.... Sex and the City 2! Lets hear it for New York, New York, New Yoooork!

PS- Carrie's turban = *love*! And her J'adore Dior tee? Hmmm...

Leopard and Lace and Rodarte, oh my!

(I look *so* tired here! Ignore my face, look at the pretty dress!)
Dress: Rodarte for Target
Bag: Jalda
Boots: Alice + Olivia for Payless
Rings: Elizabeth & James, mark., Amrita Singh

Check your local Target's, Rodarte is out! At least, the first round is. I picked up this leopard print dress, and I also spotted the sheer peach dress with bows on the shoulders (also comes in black), the leopard sequin sleeveless dress, the spider-weby cardigans, and some boring tees.

As for the dress I bought, I'm 95% in love with it. The fit is super small - I ended up with a size 9 and probably could have gone up to an 11. Also, there are three bows on the back that you have to snap open and closed to get the dress on and off. They're a pain and sort of gaudy, but I don't have the guts to chop them off just yet. I might though... still
pondering it. Otherwise, in my opinion this dress is really well made, and looks a lot more expensive than $45! It has a black slip sewn in, and the leopard part is lacy - I took a close up pic (below) because it's kind of hard to describe.

Still waiting on the sheer light blue dress - anyone spotted that one in their local Target? And have you bought any Rodarte for Target yet? The official release date at Target.com is this Sunday! Let me know what you've bought or are planning on buying!

(Also, may I present to you my new Jalda bag! I won it from Bag Bliss - thanks so much Jennifer!)

Currently Craving: Pretty Little Things

Vintage Coiled Snake Bracelet; Sterling Silver Stacking Rings; Intimately FP Encinitas Ruffle Cropped Cami; Little Birch Jewelry Stand; OctopusME! Octopus Sucker Ring; Free People Color Run Hoodie

I found this store on Etsy, OctopusME!, and I can't decide if it's the coolest thing or the creepiest thing ever. Here's a bit of the description of the Octopus Sucker Ring posted above:

"This is a REAL Octopus Tentacle I modified to become a ring! I hollowed out the wax version for the finger hole and shaped the piece. After it was cast and cleaned, I added some of the textures by hand. It feels good on, fits well between your fingers and it has a nice weight to it. Definitely unique and looks great on guys and gals!"
So, this ring is made from actual Octopus? I'm not sure if the PETA side of me is all for this, but that ring is pretty awesome. As are a ton of other pieces at that store. Check it out!

Inspire Me: MKA

Just a few of my favorite Mary-Kate and Ashley looks. They've mastered the I-just-rolled-out-of-bed-and-threw-on-whatever-I-saw-first look like nobody else! And I'm not sure if I should ask this (don't wanna start a war!), but throughout the years, whose style have you preferred? The generally more crisper and cleaner Ashley, or the boho, relaxed MK? And which twin do you dress most like? I've definitely always been a Mary-Kate girl - I love her free spirited approach to clothes - but I think I personally dress more like Ashley. How about you? I can't wait to hear your responses!

I <3 NY

I just got home a few days ago and I'm already planning my next trip to NY! I'd love to see the city covered in a sheet of fresh white snow - that just sounds so romantic! Ah, I need you real New York-ers out there to snap me out of this sentimental haze! But for now, I'm off to watch Manhattan for the millionth time...

Christmas Shopping with TJ Maxx

These two outfits look exactly the same - can you tell which is from
the department store and which is from TJ Maxx? I can't!

Sorry for the long absence from blogging! I was on a whirlwind trip to New York City these past few days, courtesy of the wonderful people at TJ Maxx and Rocket XL! So before I even begin to tell you all about it, I must thank TJ Maxx and Rocket XL - particularly Victoria - for putting together such an amazing event in such little time! Thank you all!

The reason that a handful of bloggers, including myself, were invited to New York during the holiday season was to prove to us that all of our holiday shopping can be done at TJ Maxx. I was a bit skeptical at first, as any slightly-snobby shopper like myself would be, but I have to say that I have been converted! TJ Maxx had everything for everyone on my list!

The gorgeous Alison Deyette shows us three looks she threw
together from designer pieces she found at TJ Maxx

At the TJ Maxx Red Carpet Shopping event this past Thursday morning, us bloggers got tips from superstar stylist Alison Deyette on how to find exactly what we're looking for at TJ Maxx. Alison explained that despite popular belief, all styles in TJ Maxx are current season (unless otherwise clearly marked), they are not defective, and nothing is close to expiration. TJ Maxx ends up with such great designer brands not because they were leftovers or rejects, but because the designers simply overestimated how many to send to department stores and boutiques. Therefore, you can find the exact same piece at the exact same time in a department store as you can at TJ Maxx! The only difference is the price!

After the presentation, we were let loose to find our own bargains in TJ Maxx! I ended up in the "Runway" section of the store, scouring through racks of discounted designer clothes straight of the runway. I left the store with a gorgeous Valentino blouse that I'll definitely be showing off in an outfit post very very soon!

Not only did I learn a ton about TJ Maxx (and become a believer!), I also met some amazing bloggers! I got to hang out with the sweet and beautiful Erika of Fashion Chalet, Lee of My Sentiment ExactLee, Julia of Fashion Pulse Daily, and so many more! It was so wonderful meeting you all, and I hope I can make it down to the city for more events like this in the future!

Winner Announced!!

ugg australia boots
Congrats go out the Teresa of Invasionista for winning the $100 gift card to Shopbop! When asked what her favorite Ugg boot was on the Shopbop site, she commented:
"The UGG Elsey Tall Wedge boots immediately caught my attention! They add a touch of sophistication to any outfit with the streamlined shape, trendy wedge heel, Victorian-style laces and luxurious suede upper. The great thing about the Elseys is that they have such a versatile look and can also be worn as a casual boot. The shearling lining keeps your feet toasty and warm on those really cold days! I would pair these gorgeous babies with a dress, leggings, and my favorite winter coat."
Enjoy your new Ugg boots, or whatever else you get from Shopbop! Be sure to come back and tell me what you bought!
