My attempt at shredding a tee

Thanks to the excellent directions from childhood flames, I was able to attempt my first knockoff Raquel Allegra over Thanksgiving break (instead of working on 1 of my 4 research projects due in the next few weeks). Unfortunately, I started with a Hanes shirt that was already too big on me, so after the shredding it became enormous. I'm trying to figure out how to shrink it or take it in or something, maybe cutting off the sleeves would make it look less huge? I'll think on it.

If you love me, won't you let me know?

My dream Christmas List:

Either this Balmain Spring 09 Ready-to-Wear Dress (and I'll take the shoes!),

...Or this Balmain Spring 09 Ready-to-Wear Dress (btw this is the dress SJP is wearing in the post below).
Unfortunately you can't buy either dress online, but this is my dream Xmas list, and in my dream whoever is buying me one of these has the same kind of hookup as SJP and can get me one before they're available to the public!

These Yves Saint Laurent sandals come in blue and black, and I'm definitely feeling the blue.

These Marni Rubber Mary-Jane pumps are so cute, and they almost look like they could be comfortable - well as comfortable as 4 inch heels can be.

I need a little black dress, and what better than this stunning Alexander McQueen Satin one-shoulder dress?

Lastly, I would love these studded Fendi Peep toe platforms, and they're actually on sale right now! It's a Christmas miracle!

I like your style: Sarah Jessica Parker

Here are some pictures of Sarah Jessica Parker at NYC Ballet's 2008-09 Opening Night Gala on Tuesday, November 25. She is wearing a Balmain dress and Balenciaga shoes. I personally love love love this outfit! But many hate it (in fact, 54% of people on Glamour call it a big fashion NO). What do you think?

Nine West Sale- Additional 30% Off

Nine West is currently offering an additional 30% off all sale-priced items, with free shipping on all orders over $25. It is really testing my will not to order more shoes, especially since I am so satisfied with my first order (the Cuzza boots I talk about in pretty much every post). I just have to keep reminding myself that Christmas is coming up and I should be shopping for gifts for others, not myself. Wow, that made me sound incredibly vain! Moving on, here are my picks from the sale section at Nine West, along with how much they'll come to with the extra 30% off (which is added once you go to checkout, no code needed).

Nine West Hamptonesk, $28, in black and bronze leather

Nine West Undertoe, $35, in brown and black leather

Nine West Dasolina, $49, in dark purple, black, dark green, and dark grey suede

Nine West Yung, $63, in black and silver patent

Boutique 9 Boseda, $77, in black patent

Boutique 9 Danika, $140, in dark grey and black leather

McQ Alexander McQueen for Target

Photo from the Fashion Spot

Here are some pictures that have leaked of Target's collaboration with Alexander McQueen. Are you interested or are you sick to death of Target's "Go" designer collabs? Technically, this won't be a "Go" line, it will be a "Target Designer Collaboration". I wonder if that means they'll raise the prices? Honestly, I've not been loving the "Go" lines lately, but I have high hopes for this collection and the Hayden-Harnett bags (see my post about that here). I especially love the grey kimono blazer (3rd picture) and both oversized blazers (1st and 4th pictures). The line will drop in March, and I'm sure many more pictures will leak out before then!

Economic Crisis = Excellent Shopping

Xmas tree in the middle of Crocker Park

I went to Crocker Park this weekend with my boyfriend. For those who don't know (I'm assuming most of you don't), Crocker Park is a fancy outdoor shopping mall near Cleveland, with stores like H&M, Urban Outfitters, Guess, Coach, and Sephora (much like any regular mall). We took a bus there with a bunch of other Oberlin students, and on the way back I noticed that me and the BF by far had the most bags. I guess Consumer Society may have been a better name for this blog after all! Anyways, I posted pictures of what I bought, and then I realized they don't look like much of anything laying on the floor, so I'll take outfit pictures sometime during the week.

Sidebar: I kind of love that a side-effect of the horrible economy is incredible sales. Like, more than 90% off in the case of my men's wifebeater (which for me is a dress....).

Pleather skirt from H&M, $25
I'm kind of obsessed with this, in all its fake-leather glory.

Ecote slip from Urban Outfitters, $9.99 (marked down from $58)
I plan to wear this like a dress, a la bohemian Kate Moss, obviously with a slip underneath.

Black tee from Gap, $5.99 (marked down from $16.99)
Boring, but highly functional, and will probably get the most wear.

Black wifebeater from the men's department of Gap, $.97 (marked down from $16.50)
This will function as a tank dress for me, or a slip for under the UO dress, or something... I'll find a use for it, considering it was less than $1.

Black Cuzza boots from Nine West
This is just a better picture of the boots I ordered a few weeks back, they are still slightly muddy but trust me, they were much worse before.

Payless has some great collaborations happening this season, including Patricia Field and Alice + Olivia, and I just can't get over how cute these shoes turned out! Muddy boots

My Nine West boots came on Friday, and I've already completely dirtied them up. I wore them to a party last night, which unfortunately involved trudging through a muddy backyard to get in. I am in the process of scrubbing dried mud off of them though - thankfully these really are rugged boots. I'll take more pictures of them once I clean them off. Oh, and I'm hiding my face in the above picture because I'm not sure I'm ready to post it. I'm really not trying to look sad, even though it came off that way.
(horribly unflattering picture of my legs... but you get to see the tops of the boots, pre-mud)

Foley + Corinna Classic City Tote in Glitter

I saw this at Saks the other day, and it is so incredible soft and supple and... *swoon*. The gold sparkly color is exactly what my winter wardrobe needs. Must have!

Taylor Momsen in Nine West Cuzza

The stylists for Gossip Girl have brought back the Nine West Cuzza boots I just ordered last night! This is the second time Taylor Momsen has been spotted with these boots, but I guess it makes sense because her character lives in Brooklyn and doesn't have the bankroll to wear a different pair of shoes every day. But this just makes me more impatient for mine to arrive! Supposedly they'll be here by tomorrow...!

Pure Eye Candy

The first pictures of Ed Westwick's K-Swiss campaign, called "Pure Classics", were released today. The ads will debut February 2009 in magazines, TV, internet, and billboards. I can't wait. See more at Just Jared.

Hayden-Harnett for Target Revealed

Chain bag, $44.99

Today pictures were released of the anticipated Hayden-Harnett for Target collaboration, and I'm pretty excited about this one. The designs are hot (you know I love the studs on the above bag), the "leather" looks soft, and the prices are right. I haven't liked the past few designer handbag collabs with Target, and although I own a Botkier for Target clutch, it has yet to see the light of day. But I have high hope for these bags, maybe I'm naive but I have faith! The bags will be available for purchase in stores and online December 28. Check out the entire collection at Racked, and check out my favs below.

Hobo, $44.99

Double-flap bag (shown with and w/o strap), $29.99

Umbrella, $22.99 (how awesome is this?)
