Birthdays and Beaches

Erin Wasson x RVCA tank, Abercrombie & Fitch shorts, Vintage belt, earrings & bracelet,
Feather Creations by Carmen headband, Havaianas flip flops, Balenciaga bag

This weekend was my 24th birthday - I'm getting old! The celebration lasted for 3 days, and included Mexican, Italian, and Indian food, mango margaritas, and wayyyyy too much cookie cake. Why is it that all celebrations revolve around food? Not that I'm complaining!

The BF and I went to the beach yesterday, and he gave me this beautiful feather headband. I think I fell in love with him even more after finding out he bought it on Etsy! I love that he also loves supporting independent designers. You all should check out Feather Creations by Carmen, because she makes some beautiful stuff! Next on my list of must-haves are her Tribal Feather, Stone, and Leather earrings - gorgeous!

I hope you've all been enjoying this long weekend! Happy Memorial Day to all my American readers! And don't forget to enter to win a $100 gift certificate to Shopbop - ends this Saturday!

Win a $100 gift card to Shopbop, to spend on Elizabeth and James (or anything else you like)!

Do you love Elizabeth and James clothing? I sure do! And so do Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen! As the designers behind Elizabeth and James, these two ladies have been spotted several times sporting their own label, as seen on Shopbop shoptalk.

If you're also a fan of the brand, you're in luck! Breakfast at Saks has teamed with Shopbop to give away a $100 gift card, to put towards the purchase of any Elizabeth and James item you like (or anything else on Shopbop)! All you have to do is go to Shopbop and find your favorite Elizabeth and James item. Then come back here and leave a comment that answers the question:

Which Elizabeth and James item from Shopbop is your favorite and why?

By commenting, you'll be entering for a chance to win a $100 Shopbop gift card! The most creative, fashion-inspiring comment wins, so have fun with this! Whether you love a pair of Elizabeth and James booties or an item from Elizabeth and James clearance, it's up to you to justify why whatever you pick is your favorite! The giveaway is *open to everybody, including international readers* and will run for 10 days, so you have until June 5th to enter. I will pick the winner that weekend!

About Elizabeth and James

Hollywood's most powerful twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, have been entertainers and marketers since their infancy and have expanded their empire under the company they own and for which they design, Dualstar Entertainment Group. Known for their own stylish (and to some, over-the-top) looks, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen launched the Elizabeth and James, a contemporary collection inspired by their own personal wardrobes, in the fall of 2007. The line is all about blending different elements, mixing uptown and downtown elements with traditional styles. The women's line is a mix of masculine and feminine styles, while the menswear is created using traditional masculine silhouettes and luxurious fabrics. The brand now encompasses women's wear, menswear, women's shoes and jewelry.

Fuzzy

Thrifted from Goodwill fuzzy leopard top, DIY shorts, Vintage bracelet,
Forever 21 rings, Urban Outfitters sunglasses

I'm still obsessed with leopard, and loving everything I find that is both fuzzy and leopard print. And I'm especially loving pairing my new/thrifted fuzzy leopard shirt with my fuzzy leopard bracelet. Too much fuzzy leopard? Never. I'm convinced that I will still be wearing this fuzzy leopard shirt when I'm 80, and I'll be the most fabulous Grandma on the block (or at least, the most embarrassing!).

Bohemia

Handmade tie dye dress, Forever 21 headband, Vintage necklace, rings, and bracelets,
Elizabeth & James snake ring, Minnetonka moccasins

Are you all enjoying this early summer? In a few days it went from 50 degrees to over 80 degrees! I'm so excited, but so *hot*! I've been living in loose dresses - I don't know what else to wear! How do you all dress to beat the heat?

Anyways, I just wanted to take a few quick pictures because it has been over a month since I've done an outfit post!
I got this dress from a vendor at this festival I went to last weekend with the BF. I wanted to buy pretty much everything in the vendor's stand, but the BF knows I'm broke and dragged me away before I did too much damage. And plus, how many tie dye dresses can one person own? Hm... now that I think about it, I could definitely use a few more tie dye dresses :)

The necklace is from a lot of "southwestern" jewelry I randomly bid on and ended up winning over at ebay. I scored 10 necklaces, a few bracelets, and 4 pairs of earrings for basically nothing - gotta love ebay for that! What's your best ebay score? I love hearing about bargains!

Hope you all have a great weekend! FYI, I have another giveaway coming up in the next week or so - get excited! It's a good one!

Currently Craving: Chav-tastic

*The perfect turban (both @ Babooshka Boutique)
*Blatant, gaudy name-brands (J'adore Dior tank @ Ebay)
*A neck full of chains (Bolera Body Chain @ Armor Jewelry, Chain fringe necklace @ Urban Outfitters)

I'm not craving particular things at the moment, but more ideas of perfect things, that likely don't exist in the real world. For example, the perfect turban. In my head, I envision it to be somewhat like Carrie Bradshaw's turban in SATC2, but less sparkly and vacation-y and more everyday wear. I have no idea what that would look like in front of me - still figuring that part out. But I do love all of the Babooshka Boutique turbans over at Etsy!

I'm also craving the perfect in-your-face, gaudy designer item. Like a J'adore Dior tank (also inspired from SATC2), or those Chanel CC sandals that came out a few years ago (as seen on Nitrolicious). Anything sort of chavvy like that, I'm loving right now! I've got to try to dig up my old Burberry hat from high school... I wish I was kidding!

And chains, an old classic - the more, the better! If I had $275 laying around, you better believe that I'd be wearing that Armor Bolera chain around - and probably building up some impressive back muscles by doing so! How heavy do you think that would be? Well, however heavy, it'd be worth it for sure!

PS: There is a winner for the SATC2 On Location Tours tickets! Congrats to Dee of All That Lace! Enjoy!!

Go-To

I haven't had time to take proper outfit pictures lately, but I was able to take a couple quick snaps of the things I've been reaching for again and again this week. I've pretty much been living in shorts and tees (and my Cavs jersey!), so there isn't too much to show! I'm definitely not a great summer-weather dresser - I'd choose jeans and sweaters over tank tops and booty shorts every time!

Studded headband from ShopToast

Minnetonka moccasins from Urban Outfitters

Vintage fuzzy leopard cuff

And of course, my little-boy-sized Cavs jersey

What do you all reach for in your closets when you are lacking inspiration? Do you have go-to outfits or accessories for days when you feel you have nothing to wear? I'd love to hear from you all - I'm seriously lacking warm-weather wardrobe inspiration lately!
