Paris Haute Couture shows have begun with a bang, along with a "let them eat cake" mentality! There was definitely no sign of a recession today at the Dior Couture show. Here's what Galliano had to say about it:
Of course I’m sensitive to the economy. Of course I’m aware of it. I read the newspapers; I watch TV, but [dealing with it] is not my job. My job is to do the best I can to show the possibilities of Dior. When you’re standing in a hurricane, you have to keep your feet firmly on the ground. If you panic, whew…you fly away.Check out the whole collection here, it is so very romantic and whimsical - I would love to have a Valentine's Day date that warranted the wear of one of the gowns above! Check out the intricate pleating and folds - there's nothing like Couture!

i want haute couture! i love the first pics you posted of the collection. And I agree with Mr. Galliano :) there's no need for all of us to start dressed like mary kate olsen hobos just because the economy is bad.
hey there! wooow... these dresses look exciting. I love the haute-couture shows, these clothes should be rather considered as works of art than only dresses.
WOW! Gorgeous <3
