Crunchy leaves

Jessica Simpson floppy hat from Marshalls; American Apparel raglan; Hollister cargo skirt; Jessica Simpson Dany platforms; Vintage Chanel backpack; Target scarf; Vintage belt; Forever 21 socks; Burberry sunglasses; Forever 21 rings

So here is what I bought on my trip to Marshalls - this tan floppy hat by Jessica Simpson. As seen in black on Rumi and Karen, I knew it had to be mine the second I placed it on my head. It has the perfect amount of floppiness, is loose enough so that it doesn't leave horrible hat-hair when removed, and is the perfect weight for all seasons! I can't wait to pair it with my favorite chunky sweater and some over-the-knee boots (still searching for the perfect pair of those...). I'm thinking I might have to make a trip back to Marshalls this week to buy it in black too! Oh and also, the hat does come with a felt flower attached to it, but it was easily removed with just two snips of the scissors. That's about as DIY-y as I get lately, haha!

I'm always excited to check out the latest arrivals at Marshalls - every time I step into that store I come out with armloads of designer goodies at ridiculous discounts. So when I was asked to once again review the current fashions available at my local Marshalls, I jumped at the opportunity! Especially because this time there's something in it for my lovely readers too... read on!

W
ithin an hour of arriving at Marshalls, my cart was filled with labels like Joe's Jeans, French Connection, Sam Edelman, and more! The Fall fashions have definitely arrived at Marshalls, and I spotted aisles of over-the-knee boots, wool and leather jackets, winter hats and scarves, and even Halloween costumes! In my next post I'll show you what I ended up buying at Marshalls that day, but right now I want to get into the fun stuff!

Autumn Overdose

Forever 21 jacket; Blue Life Sonnet Swing Tunic courtesy of Planet Blue; Hue leggings; Vintage Justin boots; Ray Ban Wayfarers courtesy of Shades Daddy; Forever 21 and Amrita Singh rings; Vintage necklaces; American Eagle fingerless gloves

There is still a week left before Halloween, but I already feel all Autumn-ed out. I've visited the pumpkin patches, I've drank the apple cider, and I've eaten way too many fried cakes - I'm ready for winter now! Of course, this apathy towards Halloween might also be due to the fact that I haven't yet made plans for the holiday, despite having prematurely picked up a costume at Goodwill the other week.... What are your plans for Halloween this year?

Two Years

Thrifted sweater; Vintage tee; Blu Moon Almost Famous skirt courtesy of Planet Blue; Gap leather flats;
Blu Moon
turquoise cuff bracelet courtesy of Planet Blue; Forever 21 feather necklace

Today marks the two year anniversary of Breakfast at Saks! I'm pretty sure this calls for popping open a bottle of bubbly - even if it is only Wednesday! I can't thank you all enough for reading my blog, following, commenting, and being my friends - I love and appreciate you all so much! And I have a giveaway coming up to thank you all more properly... keep checking back for details!

What better way to celebrate than getting lost in the woods and stumbling upon the Erie Canal? The BF and I took these pictures this past weekend, and I hope they aren't the last ones we take before all the leaves are on the ground. I really love the Fall, the colors are so gorgeous, but it's the impending Winter I'm not so excited about - slush is not my friend. With slush, I can't wear my ever-increasing collection of maxi skirts and dresses, which now include this gorgeous, flowing, leopard-print one from Planet Blue - thanks Lily!

Currently Craving: Grayscale

Can you believe this lace maxi skirt is from Forever 21? It looks almost exactly like ones I've seen at Nasty Gal and Free People for $100+! Of course, the Alexander McQueen four-finger ring isn't quite so budget-friendly, but I mean, look at it. It's gorgeous. Definitely crave-worthy! The Olivia Harris fur bag hurts the PETA-part of my heart, but if it was faux-fur I would buy it in a second. Have any of you seen anything similar-looking in faux fur?

Also, I know Jeffrey Campbell shoes are showing up in every other post on my blog lately, but I just can't help it - I'm a full-fledged addict! And I desperately want the Lita's in just about every color they come in. Have you seen the blue suede ones? *swoon*.

The last of the summer sun

H&M leopard maxi dress; Jeffrey Campbell Lita's from Solestruck; Burberry sunglasses

I'm sorry I haven't been the best blogger lately, I've been trying to soak up every last second of sun and degree of warmth while it's still around! So that meant going down to the lake this weekend for one last dose of German food and 32oz beers, and a walk along the pier. I always love checking out the semi-dilapidated boat houses that are covered in spider webs (that part freaks me out a bit, to be honest). And I had to take my H&M leopard maxi dress out for a spin! If you follow me on Twitter, you'll remember that I was frantically searching every H&M store within a 100 mile radius of my house for this dress, and it finally showed up when I had just about given up hope of ever finding it! So I'm sure I'll be wearing this dress at least once a week, until everybody starts calling me the leopard-girl... and probably still then, too.

Oktober

Ray Ban Wayfarers courtesy of ShadesDaddy.com; Thrifted sweater; Maxi skirt from ebay;
Jeffrey Campbell clogs; Forever 21 feather necklace; Vintage earrings

Happy October everybody! It's the month to drink apple cider, snuggle up in giant sweaters, and carve pumpkins! In honor of the first weekend of October, the BF and I went to our favorite farm market and stocked up on cider and fried cakes - maybe not the best for my diet, but how could I resist?

Also, I am sooo excited to show you all my new sunglasses! I've never owned a pair of Ray Bans before, so when ShadesDaddy.com contacted me to review a pair I was absolutely thrilled! They carry a ton of styles of Ray Bans, and I chose the 2140 original wayfarers to review. They fit like a glove, are the perfect size for my narrow face (I got the 50mm lens size), and IMHO look fabulous on! Definitely be sure to check out ShadesDaddy.com if you're in the market for new sunglasses. Not only do they carry Ray Bans, but they also carry D&G, Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford, YSL... pretty much every hot designer sunglasses brand you can think of!

PS - The winner of the $100 Shopbop gift card is... Michelle of Glisters and Blisters! Congrats Michelle, and enjoy!! If you didn't win, don't worry - I'm already working on the next giveaway for you all! :)
